About Daulatabad Fort
Devagiri was considered close to impregnable, and the climb explains why: concentric fortifications, a rock-cut moat, and a pitch-dark spiral tunnel that could be turned against anyone inside it. Muhammad bin Tughluq famously moved the capital here from Delhi in 1327 and marched the population hundreds of miles to do it, then reversed the decision. The climb to the summit is long and exposed — worth checking with the treating doctor before a recovering patient attempts it.
