Grishneshwar Temple
One of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva, in red basalt, a short walk from the Ellora caves.
About Grishneshwar Temple
The present temple is 18th century, rebuilt by Ahilyabai Holkar, though the site is far older. It is an active place of worship rather than a monument, so it is busy, and dress and conduct expectations apply. Being minutes from Verul, most visitors see both in one trip.
Visiting Grishneshwar Temple from the hospital
Grishneshwar Temple is approximately 30 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where several of our partner hospitals are located. An hour. We can arrange a car and driver, and if you are travelling with a recovering patient we will check the plan with the treating doctor first.
