A 17th-century palace at the foot of the Satara hills, built by a Bundelkhand chieftain and named for gold paintwork long since gone.
About Soneri Mahal
Soneri Mahal was built in the 1650s and takes its name from gold-leaf paintings that decorated the interior, none of which survive. It now houses a small museum of sculpture and textiles, and the grounds are quiet enough to be worth an hour on their own. It sits inside the university campus area, so it is easy to combine with the Aurangabad Caves just above it.

Soneri Mahal is approximately 6 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where several of our partner hospitals are located. An hour. We can arrange a car and driver, and if you are travelling with a recovering patient we will check the plan with the treating doctor first.
